J Wegner is a social impact and media researcher and consultant, who has worked with UNESCO, DW Akademie and fesmedia, among other organisations. Initially a practising journalist, J combined this with studies in International Development to focus on media development and more specifically, media innovation viability. J is also a Media Lab Bayern R&D fellow, exploring how journalism can help bring people into civic action and currently working as a Project Lead on Exile Journalism with Media in Cooperation and Transition. In addition, J is interested in exploring alternatives to traditional development models as a consultant, fundraiser and founder of two independent initiatives.
