James is a consultant specialised in digital media, innovation and entrepreneurship. He was co-director of the Master’s program in Global Economic Journalism at Tsinghua University. As a Knight International Journalism Fellow he launched and directed the Digital Journalism Training Center at the University of Guadalajara. Before becoming a university professor, he had an extensive professional career as a reporter, editor and the general manager of the Baltimore Business Journal. His investigative journalism received awards from the American City Business Journals, Association of Area Business Publications and the Society of Professional Journalists. He holds a Master’s degree in English literature (University of Connecticut) and a Bachelor’s degree in English literature (College of Wooster).
